The Boston Bruins snapped their three-game losing streak in dominant fashion on Saturday night. With their victory, 1st place in the Eastern Conference is back in sight.

The boys are back. The Boston Bruins team that fans love returned and snapped their three-game losing streak on Saturday night. There was a bevy of goals to go around in an entertaining game. This game showed that the Bruins have the potential to make a run for the Stanley Cup.

The stars were shining

The Bruins got production from some likely sources on Saturday night. David Pastrnak kicked off the scoring for the Bruins near the halfway point of the second period. The Bruins were on the powerplay and “Pasta” went to his sniper’s den where he best operates. Pasta was near the faceoff circle and rocketed home a one-timer for his 34th goal of the season. If Pastrnak gets an opportunity to shoot from there it is game over.

Also, Danton Heinen would go on to score his 16th goal of the season. Heinen has been struggling lately, but he has scored goals in two straight games. If he can continue to put up points he will have a great postseason.

Grinder’s Goals

The Bruins also got some help from players on the bottom lines. Tommy Wingels returned to the lineup on Saturday night and was able to score a goal in his first game back. I didn’t expect much out of Wingels. I didn’t expect him to play much but he has been a great pick up.

Also, Noel Acciari scored his 10th goal of the season. He had a breakaway and was able to show off some dangles that he normally isn’t able to. The Bruins were running on all cylinders on Saturday night. When they play like this there is no one who can beat them.

1st place is in the Boston Bruins hands

The Bruins control their own destiny. If they are able to beat the Florida Panthers they will be the Eastern Conference champions. The Panthers are eliminated from playoff contention, but I wouldn’t expect them to just hand the game to the Bruins. They have something to play for. The Panthers could stop the Bruins from getting first place. It’s basically their Stanley Cup.
