New England Patriots: Stephon Gilmore dominating training camp

The superstar of New England Patriots training camp has been Stephon Gilmore. After the departure of Malcolm Butler, the Patriots will need Gilmore to lock down opposing wideouts.
The New England Patriots secondary has a lot of work to do. They were torched in the Super Bowl and lost one of their best players. It appears that one player is ready to step up.
Stephon Gilmore has been the best player at training camp so far. He is locking any wide receiver down and making amazing plays.
With Malcolm Butler no longer on the team, the Patriots will need Gilmore to be a lockdown corner. He didn’t have the best of starts last season.

In the first month of the season, Gilmore allowed 71% percent of passes that came his way to be caught. He seemed to have difficulty understanding how the Patriots defense worked and was out of place at times.
From Week 5 on, Gilmore played exactly as advertised. He only allowed 52% of targets that came his way to be caught. Gilmore had a strong season with 2 interceptions and 47 tackles. He became a corner that the Patriots could rely on.
This season Gilmore will far and away be the best corner on the team. He can’t afford to get off to a bad start. The Patriots need him to perform well every single week.
This could be a big season for the Patriots defense. They have a new defensive coordinator and will have a new look defense that will be looking to be more aggressive.
Stephon Gilmore is a top corner in the NFL. He just has to make sure that he doesn’t start the season with a dud. He needs to start the season with a bang and maybe an interception.
WIth a great season, Gilmore could prove that he is was a better investment than Malcolm Butler, and possibly lead the Patriots to a championship.
