The Boston Celtics signed guard P.J. Dozier to a two way contract on Friday. Here’s what you need to know about him.

P.J. Dozier hasn’t had the best NBA career so far. He has spent most of his career in the G-League but got his first taste of NBA basketball last season. The Boston Celtics decided to sign Dozier to a two-way deal on Friday.

Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens must see some promise in the guy. He is very athletic and can guard multiple positions.

With the Celtics having no more roster spot for two-way players it looks like the roster is close to being finished. Let’s take a look at the C’s newest player.

1. He had a great college career

Dozier made a big name for himself at South Carolina. In his Sophomore year he led the Gamecocks to their first final four appearance in the team’s history.

Dozier dominated averaging 13.9 points and 4.8 rebounds a game.

Even though Dozier accomplished this amazing feat and was a high school all-American he went undrafted. He still has a lot left to prove.

In an interesting turn of events, the Celtics signing Dozier is a homecoming. He is related to someone who had a big impact on the organization in a short period of time.

He wears No. 35 in his honor.
