Anthony Davis is an amazing basketball player, but the Boston Celtics don’t need to go after the star.

There is no doubt that Anthony Davis is an amazing player. He is a big man who averages 28 points a game. Davis has the weight of the entire New Orleans Pelicans franchise on his shoulder. He has been their saving grace, but the Boston Celtics don’t need him.

This isn’t a knock on Davis. The talent that he possesses is amazing. This is more of an indictment on how talented this Boston Celtics squad is.

Frankly, you have to give up a ton to acquire Davis. Is he really worth it?

Davis may have been a fit on previous Celtics roster’s, but I think that ship has sailed. Here are 3 reasons the Celtics don’t need Anthony Davis.

He is always injured

Anthony Davis seems to always end up getting injured. In his first 4 seasons, Davis missed 68 games. The Celtics don’t need to add another player with a problematic injury history.

We saw last season how injuries ravaged the Boston Celtics. C’s fans had to wait an entire season and more to see what Gordon Hayward can do.

If the Celtics did acquire Davis, you have to plan on him missing at least 10 or 15 games.

There is no denying Davis’s skill, but his body seems to fail him at the absolute worst times.
