The New England Patriots were dominant in week 2 of the preseason. They will look to maintain their positive momentum when they face the Carolina Panthers in week 3.

The New England Patriots have consistently improved so far in the preseason. Patriots fans got their first glimpse of 41-year-old Tom Brady and he did not disappoint. Also the Patriots front 7 was insane racking up 8 sacks.

All in all, you can call that a great game for New England.

As we head into week 3 of the preseason the intensity will be ratcheted up. Bubble players need to prove they belong on the roster and starters will get their final warmups before the start of the regular season.

So are 3 things to watch when the Patriots faceoff against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night.

Can the front 7 maintain the pressure

The New England Patriots front 7 dominated the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line in week 2 of the preseason. The Patriots had 8 sacks and kept the Eagles running backs to under 50 yards.

The star of the defense was once again Ja’Whaun Bentley he had 5 tackles and took a fumble recovery to the end zone. Adrian Clayborn stripped the ball from Nick Foles and Bentley did the rest.

Bentley has been great so far in the preseason. He has even been calling plays on defense. I don’t know if you could expect such great play from a 5th round draft pick.

6th round draft pick Christian Sam had 7 tackles and was impressive as well. I hope to see these guys continue to excel. If they do the Patriots should have a solid defense for years to come.
