With the New England Patriots running back corps getting thinner by the day, all signs are pointing towards Sony Michel making his debut.

Just like the New England Patriots wide receivers, the running backs have all of a sudden gotten really thin.

Jeremy Hill was injured in Week 1 and is now out for the season, and now it appears that Rex Burkhead could possibly miss the Patriots Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Burkhead was on the Patriots injury report with a concussion.

You can never take Concussions lightly. If Burkhead doesn’t practice by Friday, I Wouldn’t expect him to suit up for Sunday’s contest.

That would leave James White, Sony Michel, and Kenjon Barner as the only options for the Week 2 battle. Since the Patriots are so thin at the position, I think they may be forced to play Michel a little earlier than they may have wanted to.

I think Michel could have a big game. He possesses some great speed and can make defenders miss. The Patriots will be looking to get the running game going since the Jaguars have such a great secondary. If they are able to do this they can roll out the play action and might be able to make some big plays.

The hype for Michel has been crazy. Ever since he was drafted in the first round fans have been expecting a lot out of him.

Michel can be great running the ball as well as catching it out of the backfield. That makes him perfect for this Patriots roster. He fits the Patriots needs perfectly.

This also means that he could have a big game. Michel could possibly have 200 all-purpose yards if he gets going early on. I don’t know if he’ll do that, but I think Michel will be a beast running the ball.

Next. Ja’Whaun Bentley having a big impact. dark

You never know when a star will be born. On Sunday we could witness Sony Michel take over the NFL.
