The New England Patriots are coming off a disappointing loss in Week 2. Hopefully, they will perform much better in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions.

New England Patriots fans are definitely not looking forward to possibly returning to Jacksonville in the playoffs. The Patriots got dominated by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 and looked like they couldn’t beat the Cleveland Browns.

The Patriots offense couldn’t get anything going and the defense returned to their no tackling form. If the Patriots want to come out of Detroit with a W they are going to need a much better effort.

Now there are some building blocks that the Patriots can build off. Some players showed some promise. Even in such a disappointing game.

There was also the big trade for Josh Gordon. Hopefully, that will pay dividends right away. The Patriots needed a wide receiver. If they can keep Gordon on the straight and narrow he could do some big things.

So here are 3 bold predictions for the Patriots Week 3 matchup.

Josh Gordon will have over 100 yards

Josh Gordon may have just joined the Patriots, but he is an amazing player. If the Patriots utilize him correctly he could have a big game.

Gordon is a great wide receiver. He is a freak of an athlete and can make some amazing catches. If Gordon plays he could play a major role.

“Flash” is unlike any wide receiver the Patriots currently have. He can be trusted to go up and get jump balls and is a supreme deep threat. Tom Brady will finally have a deep threat who he can toss the ball up to.

If Gordon plays I expect him to be possibly the top wide receiver. He is much better than Chris Hogan. As long as Gordon understands the plays, he will do just fine.

So even though Tom Brady doesn’t want to put any expectations on Josh Gordon, I sure am expecting a lot from him.
