2. He isn’t that good anymore

Jimmy Butler is definitely a great scorer, but is he really still a good player? Butler was definitely a great player at one point, but now I would consider him a mediocre player.

Last season, Butler averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. These are slight dropoffs from the previous year, and I think even though Butler is still rather young, he is past his prime.

I think we will continue to see Butler’s numbers decline, and towards the end, it will not be pretty. There is no need for the Celtics to go out and get him.

Especially with this Celtics roster I just think Butler wouldn’t fit in. He would be a ball hog and cause the Celtics offense to struggle.

It makes zero sense for the Celtics to go after Butler. I think I would rather have Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier on this roster than Butler. At least we know they have plenty of good years ahead of them.
