After a terrible performance from Tuukka Rask in the Boston Bruins first game of the season, the B’s need Jaroslav Halak to come up big on Thursday night.

Well, it seems like the Boston Bruins thought that the NHL recently reduced the regular season to 81 games because they didn’t show up on Wednesday night. The Bruins were mauled by the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night and one of the major reasons was the goaltending.

Tuukka Rask played the worst game of his career. I think Jon Scott could have scored on Rask last night.

Rask currently boasts a .737 save percentage and a goals against average of 10.92. In a period and a half, Rask was only able to stop 14 shots of the 19 he faced.

It seemed like Rask was begging to get pulled. The last goal that he gave up was brutal. I’m pretty sure that you guys could have made that save.

For now, it appears that Rask is going to have a rough start to the season once again. But there is some hope.

With Anton Khudobin no longer in Boston (miss you Dobby) the B’s went out and signed Jaroslav Halak. So far the signing appears to be paying off.

Halak entered a game that was out of reach and was much more succesful. He stopped 16 of the 18 shots that he faced. Halak was able to sprawl out and make some amazing saves.

On Thursday night the Bruins need a much better performance overall, but especially from their goaltender.

Halak needs to give the Bruins an opportunity to win. The Buffalo Sabres may have some talented players like Jack Eichel, but they aren’t a high powered team like the Washington Capitals.

This is definitely a game that the Bruins should win. If they lose they may be pelted with tomatoes as they make their way on to the ice for the first home game of the regular season on Monday.

So no pressure Jaroslav Halak. You just need to be excellent against the Sabres.
