After a tough start to the season, Tuukka Rask needs to win over the Boston Bruins fans.

It’s hard to forget Tuukka Rask’s start to the season in 2018. The Boston Bruins opened the season with a 7-0 loss to the Washington Capitals and Rask was horrible. That makes the Bruins home opener an important game for the goaltender.

Against the Caps, Rask looked like he was playing the first game of his life. He was constantly out of position and gave up some really bad goals. It is never a good sign when you are pulled halfway through the 2nd period.

Rask currently boasts a dreadful 10.92 goals against average and a .737 save percentage. Obviously, it’s after one game, but you can’t be putting up those numbers.

Rask was a former Vezina winner, we know he is a goaltender. He just needs to be much more consistent. This looks like it’s going to be the 2nd straight season Rask gets off to a rough start.

So now the Bruins home opener is a rather important game for Tuukka.

The Bruins are playing the Ottawa Senators who aren’t exactly the greatest hockey team in the world. They lost their best player Erik Karlsson and appear to be in rebuilding mode.

Rask should easily take care of the Senators. Ottawa doesn’t have a ton of goal scoring threats so this seems like a game where Rask could rebound from his rough debut.

If the Bruins lose and Rask gives up 3 goals, fans will go ballistic. Jaroslav Halak has been playing great so far. In his first start of the season, he shut the Buffalo Sabres out and looked very good between the pipes.

Next. Bruins will go as far as goaltending takes them. dark

So Rask needs to be dominant on Monday and get the Bruins faithful on his side. If not we might hear B’s fans yelling out “trade Rask” before the game even ends.
