After a 16-1 rout of the Yankees in Game 3, the Boston Red Sox and Rick Porcello look to end the series tonight at Yankee Stadium.

The Boston Red Sox have a 2-1 lead on the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series.

Nathan Eovaldi pitched 7 strong innings, striking out 5 while yielding 5 hits and 1 run. Brock Holt became the first player in MLB history to hit for the cycle in a postseason game, going 4-6, with 5 RBI and scoring 3 times.

The Yankee bats were held in check by the Boston pitchers; as Heath Hembree and Eduardo Rodriguez held them hitless in the 8th and 9th innings.

Rick Porcello will look to pickup where the pitching staff left off, as he is faced with the tough task of closing a series out in enemy territory with a crucial Game 4 start.

Porcello will be making his second appearance of the 2018 postseason tonight as the Game 4 starter.

In Game 1, Porcello came out of the bullpen in the 8th inning. He pitched for 2 outs as the bridge to Craig Kimbrel, giving up 1 hit while facing 3 batters on only 15 pitches. In the regular season against New York, Porcello absolutely dominated the Yankees. In 23.1 innings pitched, he has 20 strikeouts and a 2.34 ERA against the division rivals.

The Boston Red Sox will look to keep momentum going, as they are outscoring the Yankees 27-7 through 3 games. The Red Sox are out hitting New York 31-23. The Yankees did out-hit Boston in the first 2 games, however.

With runners in scoring position, the Red Sox are batting .428 (12-28), while the Yankees are batting .142 (3-21). This stat is ultimately going to decide if the Yankees are able to force a game back at Fenway.

New York will counter with veteran lefty CC Sabathia with their backs against the wall looking to avoid elimination.

Rick Porcello is the best option for Alex Cora and the Red Sox in Game 4, as they do not want to go back to Fenway for Game 5 on Thursday.
