The New England Patriots have a battle coming up with the Kansas City Chiefs and Julian Edelman couldn’t be any more pumped up.

He’s baaaak!  Yes, Julian Edelman is back, and the New England Patriots offense looks like it is on the brink of being an explosive once again.

As Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the entire offense prepares to take on the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night, Edelman is still focused on getting better after missing all of last season and the first four games of this NFL season.

Mentally, he is definitely the Julian Edelman we all know.  The emotion and intensity he brought to the team right out of the tunnel last Thursday night told the story of just how important of a player he is.  On the field, his presence made all the difference in the world as Brady went 9-for-9 right out of the gate.

Still, Edelman knows he has some work to do as far as his conditioning.  But, he’ll worry about that on a day-to-day basis just like the New England Patriots always approach things.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, the high intensity receiver only had his focus on Sunday night’s nationally televised game against the top team in the AFC.  Four-game suspension, ACL tear, team’s struggles prior to his return, Edelman had no time to look back at any of that.

Nope, the man known as “Minitron” had one thing on his mind.  The Kansas City Chiefs.

"“Ultimately, it’s all in the past, and I’m thinking about the Chiefs,” Edelman said, via Patriots.com.  “I’m not even thinking about last week.  We’re playing an undefeated team that looks unbelievable.  My focus is the Kansas City Chiefs.  I couldn’t care less about last week.  We’ve got a battle [coming up].  If you love football, this is why you play, for games like this.”"

Back into the mix and back into the flow of the game, you better believe Julian Edelman will come to play for this one.

Actually, when does he ever not come to play?

Concern for Chris Hogan?

Now that Julian Edelman is back, wide receiver Chris Hogan appears to be dealing with some injury issues.

According to Thursday’s injury report, Hogan was the only player not to practice due to a thigh injury.  This will probably mark him as questionable for Sunday’s big AFC showdown.

So far this season, Hogan has not lived up to expectations.  He has seemingly fell out of Tom Brady’s circle of trust.  If this latest injury lingers, one has to wonder if Chris Hogan is playing his last games with the New England Patriots as he is on the last year of a three-year contract.
