Tom Brady is starting to trust Josh Gordon more and more.  On Monday, the New England Patriots quarterback expressed his confidence in his newest weapon.

Following a 43-point performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady knows his offense still has work to do, but is throwing out some praise to his newest weapon, Josh Gordon.

With 5 receptions for 42 yards, Gordon didn’t light up the stats sheet.  However, the fact that he played 81 percent of the snaps shows he is picking up the playbook and earning some trust.

Again, he didn’t make a big play, but his big play capability and trust from Brady showed on a deep ball into the end zone in which Gordon drew a pass interference penalty while still almost hauling in the pass.

There were a couple of times where the two seemed on a different page, but overall Brady is impressed with what he is seeing from Josh Gordon.

"“I have a lot of confidence in him,” Brady said in his weekly appearance on Kirk & Callahan Monday.  “It has just been so impressive what he’s done in a short period of time.  To come in, learn the offense, have the attitude he’s had to do whatever the team needs him to do and for him to be in there for so many plays, in my mind he was just so impressive.  He is a football player.  He wants to be out there.  He’s a competitor, made some big plays for us.”"

Gordon’s commitment to being out there on the field showed when he appeared to get injured on that deep pass from Brady.

The talented wide receiver went into the blue tent for a while but stayed out there.  He later got back out there in the second half and recorded a key catch for the team.

With the size and speed Josh Gordon possesses, Sunday night’s game does show what he is willing to do to help the team win games.  It also shows how much he wants things to work in New England.  It is also fun getting more involved in the offense.

"“It was fun, honestly,” Gordon said following the game.  “I think we were preparing for that all week at practice.  I was expecting a little heavy of a workload, so I was just glad to have the opportunity to go out there and play.  I had fun.  I enjoyed it.  I appreciate Coach [Bill Belichick] giving me the opportunity.”"

That appreciation is starting to pay off for the New England Patriots. It is no coincidence that since he has been on the field going back to Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, Tom Brady and his offense has scored point totals of 38, 38 and 43.

Sky is the limit of what the Patriots offense will be once Josh Gordon is fully involved in the offense and making the type of plays he made back in 2013.  He could just morph into one of Brady’s most dynamic weapons he has had on the field ever.
