Boston Red Sox: David Price has chance to clinch World Series berth
By Justin Keene
The Boston Red Sox are one win away from a trip to the World Series. Boston won an exciting Game 4 with a chance to take the Pennant tonight, sending David Price to the mound in Game 5.
Wow. What a game, what a win for the Boston Red Sox.
The Red Sox have a 3-1 series lead in the American League Championship series. Yes, you read that right.
Game 4 was filled with amazing plays and clutch performances. From the controversial fan interference call in the bottom of the first, to Mookie Betts gunning Tony Kemp out at second base in the bottom of the 8th, to Andrew Benintendi risking it all diving for the final out in the bottom of the ninth; the Red Sox outfield was the difference maker in this game.

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit yet another home run in the top of the sixth inning to give the Red Sox a 6-5 lead at the time.
Don’t look now, but the Boston center fielder is now on a 3 game hitting streak, with 2 HR and 9 RBI so far in the series. Can someone say potential ALCS MVP?
Game 5 is tonight, with Boston looking to end Houston’s season. David Price is set to toe the rubber for the Boston Red Sox, while the Astros send Justin Verlander to the bump, hoping for a win and a chance to extend their season.
In Game 1, Justin Verlander went 6 innings, striking out 6 while allowing 2 earned runs on 90 pitches. The Houston ace also picked up 15 first pitch strikes out of the 23 batters he faced.
The Red Sox need to make him work, and not get behind in the count early. Expect the Boston bats to continue to be aggressive and battle in this one.
David Price last pitched for the Red Sox in Game 2 back on Sunday night at Fenway Park. The lefty went only 4.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs, yielding 5 hits and picking up 4 strikeouts. Price threw 80 pitches on the night, with 14 of those being first pitch strikes to the 23 batters he faced.
Thursday night’s game will be much different, with the Houston crowd screaming and yelling at him.
Price needs to shake off the nerves and pitch the game of his life, hopefully getting the monkey off his back and sending his team to the World Series.
I’m sure Alex Cora and the Red Sox do not want to see a Game 6 in Boston on Saturday, but the Houston Astros will do anything they can to make that happen.
Hopefully the bats can get to Justin Verlander early and David Price can pitch with a lead and cruise. We can only sit back and enjoy the drama tonight. Go Sox.
