2. Patrick Peterson

The New England Patriots secondary is very top heavy. Stephon Gilmore has been playing great, but besides him, there has been a whole lot of mediocrity.

Even though the Arizona Cardinals owner is downplaying the trade rumors surrounding Patrick Peterson, I think the Patriots could swing a deal.

Peterson was once looked at as a top corner in the league. In his 2nd season in the NFL, Peterson had 7 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 55 tackles.

Now Peterson may not be the same player he once was, but he can still help the Patriots out. If the Patriots acquired Peterson he would be on the opposite side of Stephon Gilmore.

Peterson is a playmaker. He can swing the momentum of games with an amazing interception. He could also help out the Patriots special team unit and keep Julian Edelman healthy by taking over the punt return duties.

The Patriots would once again have to use a combination of draft picks and a player like Jonathan Jones or Eric Rowe to acquire Peterson.
