New England Patriots: Stephon Gilmore doesn’t have time for trash talk
By Sam Minton
New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore is having a good start to his season and is letting his play do the talking.
You may not be realizing it but Stephon Gilmore is having a great year for the New England Patriots. In his first year without Malcolm Butler by his side, Gilmore is proving that he is just fine being the top corner on the team.
Gilmore has far and away been one of the top players on the Patriots defense this season. He is doing a good job of locking opposing receivers down and is also causing some turnovers.
So far this season Gilmore has 20 tackles 1 interception and a forced fumble. Gilmore can read a quarterback like a book and has been helping the Patriots defense out a lot.

Now when you think of corners what comes to your mind? You think of the trash talkers like Deion Sanders, Josh Norman, and of course Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey is definitely a great corner, but boy does he love to talk. The Jacksonville Jaguar even had the audacity to say that Rob Gronkowski wasn’t that good.
Stephon Gilmore isn’t known for trashing other players, but he sent some shots in the direction of Ramsey. Gilmore did an interview with 98.5 the Sports Hub’s Zo and Bertrand show and wasn’t shy about letting his feelings about Ramsey known.
"“I mean, it’s his personality, you know,” Gilmore said. “It’s not my style. But, a lot of guys that talk are mostly zone guys, so they have a lot of energy to do that.”"
How do you not love hearing this as a Patriots fan? In the words of Teddy Roosevelt, Gilmore is speaking softly and carrying a big stick.
Ramsey was trashing Tyreek Hill all week long and wasn’t able to back it up. Hill burned him on one play. Hopefully Gilmore is able to establish his dominance and stop Hill from having a major impact on Sunday night when Kansas City comes to town.
