1. Brad Marchand lights the lamp

Brad Marchand was doing a lot of passing so far this year. Bruins fans were starting to be concerned that Marchand may have lost his shooting touch. On Tuesday night Marchy reminded fans how great of a scorer he is.

More from Boston Bruins

Marchand’s first goal changed the direction of the game late in the 2nd period. The Bruins were on the power play and there was less than a minute left in the game.

Carolina tried to take advantage of a breakaway opportunity but Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak were excellent on the backcheck and Bergy was able to gain possession of the puck.

Bergeron launched a long pass to Marchand who was all alone as the Hurricanes were making a change. When you leave Marchand all alone there is a good chance he is going to score and that’s exactly what he did.

Then in the 3rd period, Marchand clinched the game for the Bruins. He breezed by a Carolina defender, went behind the net and scored on a beautiful wraparound goal.

The impressive thing was that Marchand was able to maintain possession of the puck with defenders all over him. Then since Marchand was able to get by the defenders he used his speed to beat Scott Darling to the bottom corner of the net.

With Marchand scoring the Bruins are a difficult team to beat.
