New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon continues to get praise from his new team on and off the field.

Maybe, just maybe Josh Gordon is going to work out as a member of the New England Patriots.

Despite rumblings that he was facing disciplinary actions for tardiness prior to the Buffalo Bills Monday night matchup, the team continues to praise Gordon as a “positive experience” so far.

Though Bill Belichick and the explosive wide receiver denied those reports following the 25-6 victory, one has to wonder if there wasn’t some truth to the tardiness rumor even with Gordon starting the game and facing no discipline.

In fact, the team appear very content with Josh Gordon and his rise up the depth chart.  Not only did the team not trade for a wide receiver at the NFL Trade Deadline, coaches continue to praise the work and progress Gordon has made in such a short period of time.

With 17 receptions for 266 yards and a touchdown in five games with the team, wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea is both impressed and enthusiastic about what Gordon will bring to the team.

"“Josh has done everything we’ve asked him to do here,” O’Shea said, as transcribed by WEEI.  “He’s worked very hard.  He’s done a great job of learning our offense, which at times can be difficult with the multiplicity of it and working with a veteran quarterback.  I think he has done a great job of being a good teammate and certainly there’s a lot to improve on, but he’s continued to make progress and he’s really done everything we’ve asked him to do.”"

While there was a small percentage chance of Gordon being a positive addition to the Patriots, he is proving he is not only dedicated to the game of football, but also dedicated to becoming a team player.  The extra hard work he has put in was further praised by O’Shea and shows how much the team is committed to what Josh Gordon brings to the offense.

He only has one 100-yard game, but he has shown the flashes that had New England Patriots fans excited about him becoming a Tom Brady weapon.  Gordon definitely has All-Pro talent and it appears he is dusting off that star and allowing it to shine.

How brightly it will shine depends on his continued hard work and dedication to doing whatever the team asks of him.

So far so good.  Let’s just hope nothing off the field causes that star to fade.

Julian Edelman on injured list

In a short week, the New England Patriots have a lot of bumps, bruises and illnesses to overcome by the time they take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers Sunday night.

While there are several players on the list, the one player of concern is Julian Edelman.

According to the injury report on Wednesday, Edelman missed the walkthrough with an illness and ankle injury.  Knowing Edelman, he will battle through with whatever’s holding him back and be available for the Sunday night matchup.

Other notable players include Shaq Mason, Jacob Hollister and Deatrich Wise who did not participate in the walkthrough.

Trent Brown, Josh Gordon, Marcus Cannon, Rob Gronkowski, Dont’a Hightower and Sony Michel headlined the list of those with limited participation.

The bright spot there was Michel who appears to be on the way back following a knee injury that initially appeared more serious than it actually was.
