The New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hasn’t been at the top of his game this season and knows he has to get better to make the team better.

Every time the New England Patriots lose a game, it seems like it always turns into Tom Brady witch hunt season.

Following the team’s embarrassing 34-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans, all eyes are on the performance of the 41-year-old quarterback as critics are salivating at the mouth of his demise.

While the entire team, including the coaches didn’t perform well last Sunday in Nashville, the man many call the G.O.A.T is being looked at as the main concern.  Given the fact that he has only thrown one touchdown in the last few games and ranks last in the NFL when it comes to quarterback rating against the blitz at 59.6 has given critics something to back up their claim of his decline.

More from Chowder and Champions

In Brady’s defense, there are factors that have contributed that rating as well as his low passing touchdown numbers.  No Julian Edelman for part of the season, Rob Gronkowski has been missing games and the offense has had to work in Josh Gordon.  There have also been injuries along the offensive line.

But, for a quarterback who once said he has all the answers to the test, Tom Brady should be able to overcome all that and still be great every game.  That’s the high standard he has earned throughout his long career.

So, when asked about that last-place rating against the blitz, Brady said he is not worried about the numbers as much as he is focused on improving in those situations.

"“Any time you are last in the league in anything probably isn’t very good. I haven’t studied that as much,” Tom Brady said Wednesday. “I think if they blitz, it gives us great opportunities to make plays. If we’re not doing that we need to figure out how to do it. I think if you rush, three, or four, or five, there’s going to be opportunities really in any case. It is just what you do with those opportunities. Hopefully we can figure that out and get out of the basement, work our way up.”"

Brady can’t do it all by himself.  The gameplan has to be better, the offensive line has to be better and his receivers have to help him out as well.  With the team entering a bye week and with all the criticism he is taking, it’s pretty much a sure bet things will get better for the New England Patriots offense.

Afterall, he is the one quarterback who can slice up defenses with his mind.

Super Bowl odds drop

The New England Patriots don’t look like a Super Bowl favorite right now and that is showing in Vegas.

According to Brovada, the Patriots are now ranked fourth amongst the Super Bowl favorites coming in at 13/2.  That is fair since the team is 7-3 and haven’t looked all that great on the road.  It is also fair considering the three teams ahead of them.  The Los Angeles Rams rank No. 1 at 13/4, the New Orleans Saints follow at 4/1 and the Kansas City Chiefs are No. 3 at 5/1.

The Chiefs have also surpassed the Patriots as favorites to win the AFC.  Again, fair considering right now the road to the Super Bowl would go through Arrowhead Stadium, a tough place for any team to play.

But, as usual, you can’t count the New England Patriots completely out.
