The Boston Bruins Friday night game was filled with twist and turns. Things just seem to never go the B’s way.

The game of hockey has changed. This was evident in the Boston Bruins Friday night overtime loss to the Dallas Stars.

It was one hell of a game especially for a 1-0 loss. There was never a dull moment. The Bruins looked like they were going to overcome all the obstacles that were laid before them and walk away with the victory, but one wrong bounce changed all of that.

It seems like the Bruins have absolutely zero puck luck. They are always on the receiving end of a bad bounce or a bad call. Boston just seems incapable of winning games.

More from Chowder and Champions

This isn’t a criticism of the Bruins. They actually played a great game and in my eyes deserved the win. With Zdeno Chara out the Bruins didn’t look half bad.

Now there is one player I want to mention before I get into my takeaways. I really like this Connor Clifton kid. He got some serious playing time and even got in his first fight.

Jason Spezza was giving it to the rookie and Clifton wasn’t having any of it. He beat Spezza to the ground and had me and many other Bruins fans ready to run through a brick wall.

With all the things that the Bruins had to overcome I am rather pleased Boston was able to get a point.

So here are my 3 takeaways from a deflating loss on Friday night.
