Boston Red Sox rumors: Nathan Eovaldi talks heating up
By Sam Minton
Nathan Eovaldi wants to stay with the Boston Red Sox organization and contract negotiations have heated up recently.
Nathan Eovaldi became a Boston Red Sox fan favorite during the Sox’s World Series run. Eovaldi’s career was reenergized in the 2018 season and should get a nice payday this offseason.
Things have recently heated up between the Red Sox’s and the starting pitcher. Reports are that contract negotiations are intensifying and a deal looks imminent. This comes on the heels of Dave Dombrowski saying that he wanted to bring Eovaldi back.
Eovaldi was dominant in the postseason. He was great in the ALDS and ALCS. He pitched 22.1 innings and struck out 16 batters.

His postseason performance made him beloved in Boston. A 2-1 record with a 1.61 ERA in six appearances is pretty awesome.
If you have Eovaldi rounding out your pitching rotation you are in a pretty good spot. He is still a young guy and he seems to love playing in Boston.
Eovaldi is rumored to be getting a 4-year deal which would end when he is 32 years old. That is the perfect time to let the pitcher go as he will be on the decline after that.
If the Red Sox can keep a good chunk of the guys from the World Series team I think they will be in a good spot to repeat. Boston has so many special players on the roster. If they stay together they will be a dangerous team.
Nathan Eovaldi seems destines to stay in Boston. Both sides want to make a deal. I think Eovaldi would take a slight discount to stay in Boston. He instantly became a fan favorite and is beloved by the city.
Red Sox fans just need to have some patience, but my gut tells me that we will see Nathan Eovaldi in a Boston uniform.
