If the New England Patriots are to solve their woes in Miami, it will start with better quarterback play from Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots have a change to clinch yet another AFC East title on Sunday, but it won’t come easy against a team that always gives them trouble in a place they always seem to struggle.

As much as Tom Brady and the Patriots dominate the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium, they seem to struggle just as badly when they travel down to South Beach.  It doesn’t seem to matter how good they are or how bad the Dolphins are.

In fact, the Patriots have lost four of their last five road games to Miami down at their place.  While some of that is due to the fact the team usually already has the division wrapped up, focus seems to be the key reason they struggle.

During his interview with Jim Gray on Monday, Tom Brady addressed his team’s issues down in Miami.

"“It’s been a challenging environment,” Brady said, as transcribed by Yahoo Sports!  “I think the climate plays some role and they always seem to play well when they play us down there.”"

This time around the Dolphins are fighting for a playoff spot at 6-6.  They are also trying to prevent watching their AFC East rivals wrap up their 10th consecutive division title.  They are a team with some talent and typically smell blood when they see Brady and the Patriots on their homefield.

While the weather is typically what’s pointed at when trying to figure out why Bill Belichick’s boys struggle, the 41-year-old quarterback isn’t giving that any credence.

"“We are not going to get beat by the weather.  We’re going to get beat by the Dolphins,” Brady continued.  “That is what we realize.  We’re going up against a good opponent that plays us very well at home.  We play them very well at home.  It is just one of those series where it is kind of like that.”"

Brady went on to say that the team will need a great week of practice and preparation to prepare for the Miami Dolphins, especially coming off a big win against the Minnesota Vikings and what lies ahead for the team in a Week 15 battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The New England Patriots simply need to play better on the road.  The defense needs to translate how they play at home to a better performance on the field and the offense needs to get off to better starts.

That will start with the quarterback.

Tom Brady needs to solve his Miami blues and make the right throws down there.  That means the offensive line need to do their job and his playmakers need to step up and find ways to get open.

Week 15 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers not flexed

Speaking of that big Week 15 showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the game will not be flexed to Sunday Night Football.  The game will remain at 4:25 on CBS.

Following last season’s classic 27-24 victory by the New England Patriots over the Steelers, it wouldn’t have been a surprise if the game was flexed into primetime.

This season, the Patriots are still chasing the No.1 seed, while the Steelers are looking to get a little revenge on the team that has had their number the last few seasons.  That is what makes the Patriots matchup with the Dolphins so critical this upcoming week.

New England can’t afford a slip up in Miami, especially with the Houston Texans on the run they are on.  A couple losses could have the Patriots playing on Wild Card Weekend.  With the way the team has struggled on the road and the injuries some of their best players have been fighting through, getting at least a first round bye in the playoffs will be key to how deep the team goes.

In summary, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are going to have to play well on the road now or else they will have to morph into road warriors come playoff time.
