Boston Bruins rumors: Anders Bjork deserves call-up
By Sam Minton
Anders Bjork has been playing well in the AHL and deserves to be called up to the Boston Bruins before the Winter Classic.
A young player can either take being sent down as an opportunity to work on their game or they can get down on themselves for poor play. It appears that Anders Bjork took the move in stride and deserves to be called up to the Boston Bruins.
There was a lot of hype over Bjork. He missed the majority of the 2017-18 season due to a shoulder injury.
Bjork only played in 30 games but proved that he could be a solid offensive weapon. He scored 4 goals and 8 assists.

But this season, Bjork struggled early on. He played in 20 games before being sent down and only had a goal and 2 assists. He wasn’t producing so he was sent down.
Since being sent down Bjork has looked great. He is almost averaging a point per game with a goal and 9 assists in 11 games.
The Bruins definitely need Bjork. They could use a shot of life since they have given up 5 goals in two straight games and are on a bit of a losing streak.
Also David Backes is suspended for 3 games after his hit against the New Jersey Devils. The Bruins need a body and Bjork could fit in on the 3rd line.
Finally it would kind of be cruel to not have Bjork for the Winter Classic. Bjork played college at Notre Dame where the Winter Classic is being played this season. It would be a shame if Bjork wasn’t able to play in the game.
So I would expect the Bruins to call up Anders Bjork soon. Hopefully he can have a bigger impact than he had early on in the year and stay in Boston for the rest of the season.
