2. The Chargers can’t handle pass-catching running backs

James White has been amazing for the New England Patriots this season. He has been Tom Brady’s favorite target. That is a bad sign for the LA Chargers.

The Chargers may have Derwin James, but when it comes to running backs who can catch the ball they forget how to play defense.

This season the Chargers gave up 973 receiving yards to opposing running backs which was the most in the entire NFL. If I am Josh McDaniels I am getting James White involved early and often.

The Patriots have used this strategy on the Chargers before. The last time these two teams played, New England’s running backs had 14 catches for 163 yards.

James White’s success against the Chargers will give you an early indication if the team is going to win. If Tom Brady is able to find White early in the game for some solid gains it will be a long day for Chargers fans.
