It was all fun and games at a Pro Bowl event until Jamal Adams decided to tackle the New England Patriots mascot.

Oh the Horror! If you thought that the rivalry between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets was dying down you were sadly mistaken.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what happened. Who would do such a bad thing to a good man like Pat the Patriot?

If you somehow haven’t heard the New England Patriots mascot was injured at a Pro Bowl event on Wednesday? Did he pull a hammy in the hot Florida sun? Nope. It was much worse.

Jamal Adams was egged on by fans who were booing the mascot and decided to take matters into his own hands. He saw Pat, jogged over, and laid out the mascot.

It was a brutal hit. The mascot didn’t see it coming and Adams left his feet. You have to think that Roger Goodell will be looking at this footage to determine a suspension for the Jets defensive back.

ESPN reported that the human being that was inside the costume had to be hospitalized. The poor guy was just doing his job and ended up being blown up by Adams.

If the Patriots needed bulletin board material they sure got it. People are going after their own mascot because they are such a hated team.

This is a prime example of the hits the NFL is trying to eliminate from the game. You can’t just stand by and let this happen.

Adams wasn’t that remorseful either. He said it wasn’t that hard of a tackle.

"“He was running around and everybody was booing him,” Adams told ESPN. “So I said, ‘You know what? Let me go tackle him.’ I didn’t hit him that hard, man. All jokes aside, I didn’t hit him that hard … but they did tell me he’s in the hospital.”"

The man ended up in the hospital. You are an NFL player, what seems like a light tackle is like getting run over by a truck for us non-athletes.

So I hope that Pat the Patriot is feeling better and gets some much-deserved rest before the big game. Even the New England Patriots mascot goes above and beyond what is asked of him.
