New England Patriots rumors: Robby Anderson should cross enemy lines
By Sam Minton
Robby Anderson has been playing for the rival New York Jets, but maybe in free agency he will jump ship and come play for the New England Patriots.
The New York Jets aren’t an amazing franchise, but they have given the New England Patriots some gifts in the past. They may give them another one this offseason.
Even though the Jets are known for terrible mistakes and poor play they do have a few quality players. One of these guys is now free agent Robby Anderson.

Anderson is a restricted free agent, but the New York Jets are known for being inept at running an NFL franchise. They aren’t the Cleveland Browns but they are pretty close. Maybe the Jets will want to save money and let Anderson go.
The Jets offense isn’t anything special as Patriots fans saw in Week 17, but Anderson is one of their stars. Last season Anderson had 50 catches for 752 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Anderson’s height makes him a deep threat and he would complement Julian Edelman’s game perfectly. The Patriots could pepper Edelman with short passes and then unleash the deep ball to Anderson.
There is no doubt that the New England Patriots are going to need to bring in a wide receiver from the draft or free agency. Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett are both free agents. Dorsett may come back, but I don’t see the Patriots bending over backwards to re-sign Chris Hogan.
Hogan has become a non-factor in the Patriots offense. For the majority of the season, it almost seemed like Tom Brady was ignoring him. There is no reason to bring Hogan back.
So I think Anderson should be on the New England Patriots radar. He would definitely make things easier for Tom Brady who at 41 years old isn’t getting any younger.
Adding Anderson would just make the Patriots passing game even better and one of the most dominant in the NFL.
