Semi Ojeleye has gone from starting playoff games to sitting on the bench. Maybe he could give the Boston Celtics the spark they desperately need.

The Boston Celtics need some kind of spark. It’s like they have gotten their energy sucked out of them. So why doesn’t Brad Stevens mess with the rotation?

One of the glaring issues that Boston has right now is defense. The Celtics were once looked at as one of the best defensive teams in the league. This season they haven’t done so well.

If you watched the team recently you have seen players allow easy layups. Also guys aren’t getting back on defense which makes it really hard to win games.

So maybe Brad Stevens needs to make some changes. He needs to re-energize the team and try to spark them into playing well. One way to do this is by giving Semi Ojeleye some more minutes.

Ojeleye is one of the most athletic members on the Boston Celtics roster. He may not light up the stat sheet on the offensive side of the floor, but Ojeleye has proven he can stop anyone on defense.

Last season the Celtics had to deal with a ton of injuries so that meant that the lineup was always changing. At the start of the 2017-18 season I would have been shocked if you told me that Ojeleye was going to start in the postseason.

But in the C’s 1st round series against the Milwaukee Bucks, Ojeleye became a starter by the end of the series just because of his defensive ability. Giannis Antetokounmpo was tearing up the Celtics, but Ojeleye came in and saved the day.

It is clear that the Boston Celtics need to get back to playing quality defense and classic Brad Stevens basketball. Giving Semi Ojeleye some more playing time might finally get this team on the right track.
