Boston Red Sox: Alex Cora believes in his team
By Sam Minton
The Boston Red Sox have struggled this season, but manager Alex Cora believes that his team will figure things out.
This season hasn’t been a fun one for the Boston Red Sox. The team can be amazing one game and terrible the next. It’s not the type of performance you expect from the defending World Series champions.
Boston has been scratching and clawing their way to 3rd in the AL East. They are still more than 6 games out of first place and are barely above .500.

There have been some bright spots. Rafeal Devers is having a fantastic season. he has far and away been the Red Sox’s best player in 2019.
So far in 2019, Devers has a .311 batting average with 9 homeruns and 40 RBIs. It looks like he will be in his first All-Star game.
The main problem with the Red Sox is their inconsistency. Boston’s roster is basically the same so if everyone played up to their talent level the Red Sox should be at the top of the AL East.
Manager Alex Cora knows that his team is capable of some great things.
It is very easy to overreact, but the Red Sox need to start stringing together some wins. The Tampa Bay Rays are well ahead of Boston for 2nd place so if the Red Sox want any chance of making the playoffs they will need to get by them.
Boston’s main problem has come from both their starting pitchers and the bullpen. Boston’s so called aces have been struggling while the bullpen seems incapable of closing out games. Now that Craig Kimbrel is off the market Boston will have to look from within for a closer.
The Boston Red Sox are definitely a great team but if they don’t figure things out they will be spending their October on vacation.
