New England Patriots Rumors: Rob Gronkowski says he’s coming back
By Sam Minton
Rob Gronkowski attended the 2019 ESPY’s and cameras caught him saying that he will be returning to the New England Patriots this season.
They say where there’s smoke there’s fire and it sure seems like there are some sparks between the New England Patriots and Rob Gronkowski.
It all started when we recently found out that Tom Brady and Gronkowski took part in a private workout at UCLA. The gang got back together and tossed the pigskin as Brady prepares for his 20th season in the NFL.
Why would Gronkowski be working out with the quarterback if he just planned to sit on the couch this year? Brady could have called plenty of people including players that are actively on his team. Why not call Matt LaCosse since he is going to be New England’s replacement for Gronkowski.
Then on the ESPY’s red carpet Rob Gronkowski appeared to let a really big secret slip. The “retired” tight end was talking to Drew Brees and it sure looks like he said he was coming back.
Take a look at this video and tell me that is not what Rob Gronkowski said. It is time for Patriots fans to put their detective caps on.
Now could we being making something out of nothing? There is definitely a chance, but what else could he be talking about?
The question is when would Gronkowski come back? Would he skip the preseason and return for week 1/ Would he wait until the last possible moment? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
There is no doubt that the Patriots could use a tight end. Right now your Week 1 starter is Matt Lacosse who only had 24 catches for 250 yards in his best season.
It seems like the Patriots didn’t expect Gronkowski to retire or they just failed at finding a replacement. Either way this is the worst state that we have seen the tight end position in a long time.
So dust out your No. 87 jerseys because it sure seems like Rob Gronkowski will be returning to the New England Patriots this season.
