Boston Red Sox: Rafael Devers having historic season
By Sam Minton
The Boston Red Sox aren’t playing well, but Rafael Devers is having a historic season and is putting on a show for the Fenway faithful.
This hasn’t been the best season for the Boston Red Sox. The former world series champions have disappointed in a major way.
It looks like the Red Sox won’t be making the playoffs. The dropoff in production from key players has been tough to watch.

But one player is having the best season of his career. Rafael Devers is giving fans hope for the future.
Devers has been seeing the ball well and doing some damage. So far this season he boasts a batting average of .332 with 27 home runs and over 100 RBIs.
The third basemen’s RBI total puts him in elite company. Devers is just the 4th player in franchise history to have a 100 RBI season before the age of 23. The last person to do so was Jim Rice 44 years ago.
This is a special season for Devers. He has proven that he is the future of this team. He has been the driving force behind the Red Sox’s offense.
If this is Devers at 22 you just have to imagine what he could be like in his prime? He could possibly be one of the best players in MLB.
We could see Devers possibly get some hardware this season. It may seem hard since he is in the same league as Mike Trout, but maybe Devers will shock the world and win MVP.
There may not be a lot of reasons to tune into the Red Sox’s unless you are a die-hard fan. Devers gives you a reason to tune in. He puts on a show night in and night out.
I think we are seeing a star in the making. If Devers can continue to perform well he will become a Red Sox legend.
