Patrick Chung has had a career revival in his 2nd go around with the New England Patriots, but it looks like he will be missing some time due to off the field issues.
Well, it looks like the New England Patriots will be without one of the best members of their secondary for some time.
On Tuesday news broke that Patrick Chung was indicted on charges of Cocaine possession and will be arraigned next week. Now we wait to see what the court ends up deciding. This is the United States you are innocent until proven guilty.

Still, this is not the type of news the NFL likes to see. With the PR disaster they have been having this season it is rather likely that Chung gets suspended.
The question is how long will the NFL take? One would think that the NFL would wait for the court case to be resolved before making a decision.
Whenever the Patriots do lose Chung it will be a major blow. He is a key member of New England’s secondary. He can blitz and stop the run while also being solid in coverage.
The Patriots do have some decent depth at the position. Duron Harmon has gotten significant playing time and this would be an opportunity for Duke Dawson to show he deserves to be in the Patriots future plans.
All in all, this is some pretty rough news. Chung might even be forced to just retire early. If a decision comes in the spring, the 32-year-old may decide it’s not worth it anymore.
Chung found his football life again in New England and it looks like this will be the place his career comes to an end. This is definitely a story you will want to keep your eye on moving forward.
