New England Patriots: 3 bold predictions for 2019 opener
By Sam Minton
3. Matt LaCosse will have 2 touchdowns
Matt LaCosse has one of the toughest jobs in the world. He has to try and be Rob Gronkowski’s replacement.
LaCosse will be the Patriots No.1 tight end for the first 4 weeks of the season and will try and replicate some of the success Gronkowski had.
There is some reason to be confident in LaCosse. He is a giant standing at 6’6″. Tom Brady will definitely enjoy throwing the ball up to him.
I think we will see LaCosse targeted a lot in the red zone, a part of the field that the Patriots should be spending plenty of time in. That is a recipe for some touchdowns to LaCosse.
This would definitely be nice because Patriots fans aren’t expecting a lot from the tight end position. Even one touchdown would have Patriots fans jumping for joy.
After Week 1 we will see if these predictions came true, but one thing is for certain the New England Patriots will be walking away with the win.
