New England Patriots GameDay: Five players to watch vs. Miami Dolphins
Tom Brady, QB
The New England Patriots quarterback simply torched the Pittsburgh Steelers in the team’s 33-3 victory in Week 1.
And that was without the threat of Antonio Brown or tight ends to throw to.
At the age of 42, Tom Brady is showing no signs of slowing down which is bad news for most teams. But, the one team that seems to have Brady’s number is the team he is facing on Sunday in their stadium.
Despite the weapons or records of the two teams, Brady always seems to struggle. I don’t see that happening in this particular game, but the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback is certainly not looking past the Miami Dolphins and emphasize 60 minutes of football.
"“In football, a lot of crazy things happen. You can’t assume that – you know, these guys are extremely skilled and they’re great players,” Brady said Wednesday. “So, we just can’t take our eye off of what the goal is, and that’s to play a great 60 minutes of football against a team that we’ve always struggled against there. It’s a division game on the road early in the season, so it means a lot.”"
While the team is expected to focus on establishing the run game, you better believe Tom Brady is going to take his shots down field. With Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon and potentially Antonio Brown running around, he will want to get the passing game going as well.
In this game, Tom Brady doesn’t have to be great to win. He just has to not be horrible.
