Boston Red Sox: 4 players whose great seasons were wasted in 2019
By Sam Minton
The Boston Red Sox failed to make the playoffs even though they got some great performances from these 5 players this season.
Well, this season was a disaster for the Boston Red Sox. After winning the World Series in 2018 this is not what we expected from the team.
Now everyone understands how hard it is to repeat in MLB. The competition is tough and after so many games players can be wiped out.

I don’t know if anyone expected the Red Sox to win the World Series again, but we all expected them to compete in the playoffs. The fact that Boston missed the playoffs is just sad. They had basically the same roster as 2018.
At least we know the team is taking their shortcomings seriously. They have already fired Dave Dombrowski and there could be some more changes to come. Luckily for Alex Cora, it seems like his job is safe.
Even though the Red Sox struggled they did get some pretty stellar performances from all over the field. Some players even had the best seasons of their career.
But their great play was all for not. The only good it will do them is to boost their pockets when contract discussions begin. One can only hope that when next season begins they will be able to build off of their impressive play.
So here are the 5 players who had their great seasons wasted in 2019.
