Jakobi Meyers, WR

With all the talk this week about Tom Brady getting on the same page with his younger receivers this week, it will be no surprise if undrafted rookie Jakobi Meyers has himself a game against the Washington Redskins.

More from Chowder and Champions

Coming into the game with just 3 receptions for 60 yards, it is obvious the New England Patriots rookie hasn’t earned Brady’s trust yet.  With Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown on the field for a game, Meyers was certainly pretty low on the depth chart.

However, given the injuries that have slowed both Gordon and Edelman, Tom Brady has to work in a receiver like Jakobi Meyers who has shown to be a good route runner.  He just has to find chemistry and get the 42-year-old quarterback to look his way a bit more.

He certainly knows he has to find his way into Brady’s circle of trust, which is not an easy thing to do for newer wide receivers in the Patriots’ system.

"“It’s more so just trying to prove myself on the field to him, just building that trust every day, just showing I’ll be in the right spot,” Meyers said, via Patriots.com.  “Hopefully he trusts me enough to give me the ball.”"

There will be some targets in this game against the Redskins secondary.  If Tom Brady and Jakobi Meyers connect early, expect the rookie to have his most productive game this season.
