Boston Bruins: 3 takeaways from teams 1st loss of 2019
By Sam Minton
1. Video review sucks
Why can’t we allow the referee’s on the ice to make all the calls. Why do we need perfection? Video review is one of the more annoying parts of the NHL.
The Bruins had 2 goals taken away due to video review and one was for sure a questionable call. Boston basically had the game stolen from their hands.

Early in the 2nd period, it appeared that Karson Kulman gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead. He perfectly handled a bad pass and rifled it into the net.
But then Colorado challenged for goalie interference. David Krejci was in front of the net battling for position. Now Krejci made slight contact with the goaltender but this definitely didn’t impede him from making the save.
Still, the refs decided to call goaltender interference and the goal was taken off the board.
Then early in the 3rd period, Jake DeBrusk scored a powerplay goal to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead. He did his usual amazing celly and it seemed like the Bruins would head on to win.
Well, Colorado once again challenged for offsides and of course the refs ruled in their favor. I hate that you can challenge for offsides.
You can enter the zone and have the puck for two minutes and score a goal but then if your skate was off the ice or a millimeter too far the goal can be taken away. That is insane!
Once again video review has become one of the Bruins biggest enemies.
