1.  Three-point accuracy

Three-point shooting is a hot commodity in the NBA these days. In the days of yesteryear, teams might have had a few players who shoot the three, with one to two specialists.

In the modern NBA, the majority of the roster can shoot the three. The Boston Celtics certainly have had this in year’s past. And while they’ve had some success, they’ve been missing one thing: the specialist.

This is not to say this is all Edwards can do, but there has been a lack in some regard on Boston in which a player can come in and be counted on to hit a huge three when needed. The last player who comes to mind is Isaiah Thomas and before him, Ray Allen.

Edwards can hopefully fill that role. He’s a player who can be a spot-up shooter as well as one who creates his own shot. If he’s knocking down the three, hitting an occasional big shot as needed, Edwards will see plenty of playing time in ’19/20.

Can he come in and hit 40 percent of his threes? It’s a mark that would likely put him in the top-20 in the league for percentage. Carsen Edwards has that ability, but if he can make 36-38 percent – and he’s getting a regular amount of attempts and playing time – then he will have a successful debut season.
