New England Patriots GameDay: 5 players who will soar vs. Baltimore Ravens
The New England Patriots (8-0) have a tough task ahead of them in the Week 9 Sunday Night matchup vs. Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens (5-2).
The New England Patriots will have a dogfight in front of them when they take on a tough Baltimore Ravens team in the prime-time lights of Sunday night.
In this Week 9 matchup, the Patriots “boogeyman” defense will be put to the test against second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens running game.
After getting gashed by Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb a week ago, many see rush defense as a vulnerability for Bill Belichick’s defense.

As going up against a running quarterback like Jackson will be a tall task, the secondary will be extra important in this game. Stephon Gilmore, Devin McCourty and crew have to keep plays in front of them and prevent big plays from occurring out of the scrambling ability of the Ravens athletic quarterback.
On the offensive side, Tom Brady has to get the ball out quick and control tempo. The Ravens’ defense will be pumped up and flying around in front of their home crowd. Staying patient and taking what is given to them will be a key to the game as well as getting out in front of the Ravens quickly.
And while the rivalry has softened a little over the years with players like Terrell Suggs and Joe Flacco no longer on the Ravens sideline, Brady still sees this as one of those classic matchups both teams will get up for.
"“It’s a tough game,” Brady told the media Friday, via Patriots.com. “This is one of the best teams in the AFC, and they have been for a long time and they present different challenges. They have a very good offense, a very good defense, special teams, coaching. There’s really no plays off playing on the road. So, it’s tough. Add some cold weather in there, I think it’s going to be what football season is all about.”"
