New England Patriots: Jerry Rice thinks Julian Edelman is the best
By Sam Minton
Jerry Rice isn’t known to be kind to the New England Patriots but he had some great things to say about Julian Edelman.
Well even though the New England Patriots lost their first game of the 2019 season, that is not stopping analysts from heaping praise on the team.
Jerry Rice hasn’t been afraid to call out the New England Patriots. He was one of the first people to come down on the Patriots for their alleged role in “deflategate.”
But at least for now, Rice is being nice.
On Tuesday, Rice appeared on Good Morning Football and was asked who has the best footwork in the game today.
Now there is plenty of receivers that might come to your mind. Odell Beckham Jr, Deandre Hopkins, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are just a few that one might think of.
That wasn’t the direction that Rice was going in. The hall of famer had an answer that would please New England Patriots fans.
I can agree with Rice here. Edelman has shown that he has an insane ability to get open. That’s why he is Tom Brady’s most trusted confidant.
Edelman is such a talented receiver. People don’t give him the credit he deserves because Tom Brady is his quarterback.
One could argue that Edelman is the greatest postseason receiver of all time. The only receiver who has more catches than Edelman in the postseason is Jerry Rice.
Who can forget the countless catches that Edelman has made in the postseason to save the game for the New England Patriots? When the Patriots need someone to make a catch they always look for Edelman.
So it might not be something that a lot of people agree with but it seems like Julian Edelman is the best wide receiver in the NFL today.
