NFL Power Rankings, Week 13: Patriots defense prove they are for real
The New England Patriots continue to make winning ugly look pretty as they remain No. 3 in the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings.
Is there any team or any coach that could stop Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens? Despite losing 37-20 in their Week 9 matchup, Bill Belichick appears to be that coach and the New England Patriots appear to be that team.
Coming in at No. 3 in NFL.com’s Week 13 NFL Power Rankings, the Patriots haven’t been as dominant overall as the Baltimore Ravens who secure the No. 2 slot, but they find ways to win as evident in their 13-9 win against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12.
At 10-1, the Patriots share the same record at the No. 1 San Francisco 49ers, but because of that one slipup against the Ravens somehow remain underneath Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners who lost a home game to the Seattle Seahawks.
Now, about those Ravens…

Boy, do they look unbeatable after their latest shellacking of the Los Angeles Rams. In fact, if any team deserves that No. 1 spot not named the New England Patriots, it is a Baltimore team that has been rolling on both sides of the ball the last few weeks.
If the Patriots do see the Ravens again, who will bet against Bill Belichick figuring out a way to stop Jackson and that explosive running game? Not only would the Patriots top ranked defense be ready a second time around, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense may have figured out a little something against that Baltimore defense.
Stay tuned.
The biggest risers this week were the Tennessee Titans who rose six spots to No. 12 following their 42-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The biggest fall were those fun Philadelphia Eagles who dropped down seven spots to No. 20 following back-to-back home losses to the Patriots and Seahawks.
