Kyle Van Noy called out New England Patriots fans for booing the team. Maybe he and his teammates should perform better if they don’t want that to happen.

The New England Patriots defense should be getting praised for all they have done this season. They have put the team on their back and single-handedly won some games.

But that doesn’t mean they are excused from criticism. It’s just something that comes with any job. especially when you are performing poorly.

I do have a confession to make. Kyle Van Noy has been getting on my nerves. The whole boogeyman nickname was kind of corny. Who creates their own nickname?

This time though he has crossed a line in some sense. He has called out his own fans.

"“Ah, too much booing for me,” linebacker Kyle Van Noy told NBC Sports Boston Tuesday night when asked whether the game felt like a playoff atmosphere. When asked if the booing irritated him, Van Noy said: “I thought it was disrespectful. but it is what it is.”"

As the Patriots headed into the locker room at the conclusion of the 1st half in Week 14, fans voiced their displeasure at being down 20-7. Who could blame them? I wouldn’t have been happy if I paid all that money and the Patriots were playing so poorly.

Also the score proves that the defense isn’t blameless. Sure the offense wasn’t scoring but the defense wasn’t exactly slowing down Kansas City’s offense.

On Tuesday when Van Noy was on NBC Sports Boston he effectively told fans to shut up and enjoy the game.

There were many things that were disrespectful about the Patriots loss. The offense was going nowhere. The refs were terrible but the fans did nothing wrong.

Now I can admit that Van Noy is having a pretty great season. He has 6.5 sacks and has caused some chaos up front. But that doesn’t mean he can just trash the fan base.

So I hope we get an apology from Kyle Van Noy. It is definitely deserved. His comments were the only thing that was disrespectful this week.
