Boston Celtics: Marcus Smart isn’t scared anymore
By Sam Minton
After a scary eye injury, Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is anxious to get back on the court.
It seemed like Marcus Smart would only miss a few games for the Boston Celtics. When you hear that a player has an eye infection it doesn’t exactly strike fear.
But Marcus Smart has been through a lot. His career was almost in jeopardy. Basketball wasn’t even a worry for Smart.

According to doctors, this was the worst case of viral conjunctivitis they have ever seen and they were even concerned that Smart might have suffered blindness if it had gotten any worse.
With such a severe injury you don’t worry about if a guy could play again. You just hope that he will be okay in his everyday life.
Thankfully Smart is healing well and should be back on the court soon. Celtics fans will definitely be happy to have him back. He is one of the most beloved players on the team.
Smart just makes the team better when he is on the court. He is having one of the best offensive seasons of his career and is a beast on defense. Smart is currently averaging a career-high in points and is shooting better than ever.
The Celtics have maintained a high level of play without Smart, but I don’t think inserting him back into the rotation will have a negative impact. He will only make the team better.
Smart can come off the bench and inject life into the team. He dives for any loose ball and is willing to put his body on the line. He is the toughest player in all of the NBA.
So soon we will Smart make his return to the court and I can’t wait to see what he is able to do.
