New England Patriots NFL Draft 2020: Time to go for Tua Tagovailoa
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots are in need of a quarterback to take over for Tom Brady, Tua Tagovailoa could be that guy.
In New England you never look back. Whether the New England Patriots are winning or losing they are always focused on what lies ahead.
After the Patriots stunning Wild Card loss to the Titans, the focus is on 2020. A season that will be filled with questions and changes.

The changes are already happening. New England’s special teams/wide receiver coach Joe Judge has been announced as the New York Giants head coach.
One of the most important questions that the Patriots are facing is pondering if Tom Brady will be on the team next season. Brady is a free agent and he didn’t have a fun season in 2019.
With Brady’s status up in the air, it is clear the Patriots need to be prepared and have a starting-caliber quarterback ready to take the reigns. I don’t think Jarret Stidham can be that guy.
So the Patriots should have their eyes on the 2020 NFL Draft. One of the most talented prospects would be great in New England.
This probably wasn’t the season that Tua Tagovailoa was expecting. The talented QB suffered a brutal injury that even hurts just reading out loud. In a game against Mississippi State, Tua dislocated his right hip and fractured his posterior wall.
Still, Tagovailoa had a promising college career. In 3 seasons at Alabama, he racked up over 7,000 yards, 87 touchdowns, and only threw 11 interceptions.
Tua has a decent arm and can make some impressive throws. No matter how small the window, Tua will find a way to drop the ball in. Tagovailoa also has great pocket presence and knows how to extend plays.
Alabama also runs a pro style offense and we already know how much Bill Belichick and Nick Saban love each other. It seems like a perfect fit.
Due to his injury history, we could see Tua drop in the draft. This was the same exact scenario that brought Rob Gronkowski to the Patriots. Even if the Patriots are forced to move up in the draft they should still go after Tagovailoa.
It is quite possible that we see Tagovailoa in a New England Patriots uniform in 2020.
