The Boston Red Sox can’t get out of their own way

The Boston Red Sox can’t get out of their own way and continue to mess up after trading Mookie Betts.
The Boston Red Sox couldn’t have had a worse start to the season. Trading away Mookie Betts had fans already thinking the 2019 season is over.
But the trade could not have been handled worse. There were rumors that the trade was going to be reversed due to a medical issue. Then some said the Red Sox wanted to reverse the trade due to the PR backlash the team received.

Then the trade finally went through. The Red Sox added Jeter Downs to the trade and there was hope once again.
But then once again more bad news came out. Fans were made aware of the awful allegations against Alex Verdugo from 2015.
Besides questioning the mind and morals of the outfielder we also found out he wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season due to a back issue.
Finally, things seemed better with the signing of Kevin Pillar but once again there is more bad news. The team keeps messing up in the handling of the Mookie Betts trade.
Ownership decided to compare the trade to the Nomar Garciaparra trade back in 2004. While there may be some similarities this is an idiotic comparison.
Mainly because Nomar was a beat-up 31-year-old compared to a 28-year-old superstar headed into his prime. How could ownership be this stupid?
This just continues to show out of touch ownership is. They aren’t trying to win and they are too afraid to tell the fans the truth.
I’m not even mad at Chaim Bloom. He was forced to make this move by ownership to shed some salary.
It just seems like the Red Sox can’t get out of there own way and if they keep this up it will be a long season.
