The New England Patriots have a valuable asset in the 23rd overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The New England Patriots have the 23rd overall pick in this year’s NFL draft. Along with the uncertainty of the futures of various free agents, including QB Tom Brady, there are plenty of tough decisions that must be made regarding the team’s future.

This draft pick presents many possibilities in terms of what it can do for the team. Here we look at these possibilities.

Get more picks

Coach Bill Belichick is known for making moves, especially when it comes to the draft. For example, flipping wideout Brandin Cooks for a first-rounder in 2018, which in turn became offense tackle Isaiah Wynn.

Then in 2010 when Belichick traded the Patriots’ 2nd round (44th overall) and 6th round (190th overall) picks to the Raiders for Oakland’s 2nd rounder (42nd overall), which would become all-time great Rob Gronkowski.

The 23rd pick in this year’s draft could give the Pats the opportunity to get more picks, like some later round picks, in order to create more depth at various positions, considering all the free agents-to-be.
