Being stuck at home has forced Boston Red Sox 1st baseman Mitch Moreland to get creative when it comes to getting his swings in.

It seems like we won’t be getting any sort of baseball in the near future. After players were sent home from spring training due to the coronavirus it appears we are months away from baseball being played. Boston Red Sox players are going to have to get creative when it comes to their training.

Of course, everyone is concerned about everyone’s health. In a time like this sports have been put on the back burner no matter how much we miss them.

But players do need to stay in shape. They need to be prepared for whenever the season does get underway.

Now it can be tough to find a way to baseball activities. It’s not like every player can just go to their own personal field. Players are being forced to improvise.

One player who seems to be making the best of things is Mitch Moreland. He seems to have quite the setup where he is staying.

Moreland is using his barn as his own personal batting cage. That is pretty sweet.

Moreland isn’t just getting some swings in. He is also getting in some fielding as well. Moreland is coming off a disappointing season. He only played in 91 games and had 19 home runs and 58 RBIs.

The Boston Red Sox will need a much better season from Moreland. They will have to replace the production of Mookie Betts and that is not a one man job.

Betts is one of the best players in the entirety of MLB. Losing him was a major blow to Boston’s offensive production.

Moreland is getting towards the end of his career and he definitely wants to end it with a bang. Even though the Red Sox have a much different roster there’s a chance they surprise some people. If Moreland can hit 20 plus home runs and up his RBI total he would be helping the Sox out a lot.

Next. Fenway Park will be empty for awhile. dark

For now, Moreland appears to be making the best with what he has at home. Having a sick batting cage at home makes it a lot easier to pass the time.
