New England Patriots: Kudos to Robert and Jonathan Kraft
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots and the Kraft family made a major donation and helped the staff at Massachusetts hospitals get the supplies they desperately need.
Massachusetts hospitals are getting hit hard as they try and battle the coronavirus epidemic. Out of nowhere an unlikely hero emerged, Owner of the New England Patriots Robert Kraft did something that can only be described as amazing.
Around the country, hospitals are dealing with a lack of supplies. One of the most in-demand items are n95 masks that help protect healthcare professionals from contracting the virus.
Massachusetts hospitals are about to get a lot of help. The Kraft family paid $2 million to purchase more than a million n95 masks. Kraft also made special changes to the Patriots plane that allowed it to be flown to China to get the masks and bring them back to Massachusetts.
I might be biased as a Patriots fans but everyone needs to be applauding the Krafts. They covered half the bill when on the other side of the table was an entire state. There was an opportunity to make a difference and they did everything they could to help.
Kraft didn’t just help out Massachusetts. Some of the masks will also be headed to New York which is being described as the epicenter of the virus.
These masks will go right to the people that need them and will save lives. Hopefully, now that Kraft has done this, other wealthy individuals will join as well. $2 million is chump change to them anyway.
But that doesn’t mean you should discount what the Kraft family has done. Governor of Massachusetts Charlie Baker even got emotional when thanking the family at a press conference.
Robert Kraft saved the Patriots from leaving New England. He has given us so much joy by allowing us to watch our favorite team.
But Kraft’s greatest effort is what he has done to help the people who are at the frontlines of the battle against this terrible virus. I for one am happy to call Robert Kraft the owner of my favorite football team.
