Boston Celtics: We all want to hear the players Brad Stevens
By Sam Minton
Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens says that he doesn’t want fake crowd noise and so does everyone else.
The NBA has been gifted a once in a lifetime opportunity. Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens seems to have the same idea as the fans, let us hear the players.
With no fans being physically present the NBA has some options. They can pump in crowd noise to make things seem normal or they can give fans a peek of what it is like to be on the court and listen to the players.

We have seen the pumped in crowd noise used in soccer leagues such as the Bundesliga and when you are watching it doesn’t seem too weird.
But this is almost a no brainer. You have to let people hear the players.
I don’t know about you, but the price of floor seats are rather expensive to me. I can’t imagine I will be sitting there anytime soon.
If the NBA allowed us to hear the players we would get this experience without the insane price. Fans who are used to sitting in the balcony would get to hear what it is like to sit courtside.
Stevens hopes that NBA fans can hear what the players say.
"“I’ve given a lot of thought to all of this stuff — I’ve been sitting in my house for three months so I’ve thought about this stuff over and over,” Stevens said on a video conference call on Tuesday. “The sound will be great for TV; I think people want to hear more of coaches, players, referees and the dialogue between everybody. If we do get in that scenario, I’m interested to see what the league would decide with pumping in noise or not. The voices of the game would be a whole new world and a lot of fun.“It would be most impactful in what these guys do from possession to possession and how much communication goes into it,” Stevens added."
As Stevens said we would get to see everything that goes into a single possession. Coaches and players are constantly in communication as the ball moves up and down the court.
Also, most fans would be excited because they would get to hear the trash talk that occurs between players. Imagine if this was around when Kevin Garnett was still in the league? I would have paid just to have him mic’d up every game.
If it is censored I would feel bad for the person who had to control the dump button. That would be a very tough job.
But ESPN aired an uncensored version of The Last Dance air so maybe we will get to hear everything the players say.
So it’s great to hear that Brad Stevens is on our side and hopefully when basketball returns we will get to hear the players as we watch the game. That would be quite the treat.
