Boston Celtics: 5 takeaways from awful defeat to Heat
By Sam Minton
The Boston Celtics ended up losing to the Jimmy Butler-less Miami heat. Boston needs to perform better.
Tuesday was not fun for Boston Celtics fans. Once again a game was marred by poor offense and too many mistakes.
This should have been a game that Boston won. Miami was without Jimmy Butler but the Heat were still able to win. That’s the type of thing that can’t be happening. If Boston is truly a contender they should be winning these games with ease.

But that wasn’t the case. For a multitude of reasons, Boston was unable to secure the victory on Tuesday night.
Now things weren’t all that bad for the C’s. They continued to get some great play from their young guns and also a surprising scoring outburst from an unlikely candidate.
The performance just wasn’t good enough. Credit to Miami and their young team because they showed just what they are capable of.
So what should C’s fans know about Tuesday’s game? Here are the 5 takeaways from the C’s loss to the Heat.
The refs are still bad
It can not be stressed just how bad the refs are. It’s almost to the point where there seems to be an agenda against the C’s.
Marcus Smart seemed to be the victim of some questionable calls. He ended up fouling out of the game in the third quarter.
It seems rather interesting that after Smart calls out the refs he ends up fouling out. It almost makes too much sense.
Also, we saw Boston’s momentum get killed thanks to a charge call on Gordon Hayward. It was a clear flop by Olynyk and stopped the C’s in their tracks.
Finally, does anyone know what Daniel Theis did to anger the refs? It seems that everytime they get a chance they call a foul on him.
Boston should have played better but the refs didn’t do them any favors.
