Once again we saw the Boston Bruins get off to a slow start. It has been an issue that has plagued them since they restarted their season.

It’s not just turnovers or general poor play. Boston makes stupid decisions that end up in penalties and these penalties usually end up in goals.

Boston can’t afford to commit too many men on the ice penalties. That is the definition of sloppy hockey.

Also, Tuukka Rask struggled between the pipes. To his credit, he made some great saves in the 3rd but when it mattered most he came up short. Rask gave up a juicy rebound and Tampa took advantage to secure the win.

Rask wasn’t the only one who struggled on that faithful play. Brandon Carlo let his man beat him to the puck. Carlo has to close off his man.

If the Bruins want to win they need to play better. It has already cost them the No.1 seed. If they continue to play poorly they will be stuck in the 4th seed and a difficult road to the Stanley Cup Finals.
